A place to hang...

...my works of art!

Thanks to Art Venue, I will be involved in a show at Refuge Cafe which will run from April 17th through June 18th. I am so excited. I'm going to be scheduling to hang some work at the Berry Line in Porter square as well, so look out for that!

I've also been talking with a fellow art appreciator of mine about putting together a big art/music show in the near future. We're hoping for this to take place at Church, more details to come.

This is how excited I am-

Just another manic Monday...

...And this time it really is Monday.

Yay for new work! I'm staying true to my cliché new year's resolution. Somehow, I pumped out 5 new paintings last week. The next step is to find someone willing to hang them in their place of business. Or anyone out there willing to put together a show??

...crickets...

Well, a blog showing will have to do for now. As always, prints for sale on Etsy (my apologies for the lack of new work in print form right now, a little low on dough$$ as usual) but you can always email me about interests in originals or prints that you would like made! nimafatima@gmail.com. Thanks to my supporters, struggling artists 4 lyfe.

Oh man...

...I really really suck at updating this thing.
Ok, let's talk new year's resolutions. I made a pretty broad one this year. I basically told myself that this would be the year I stop saying I'm going to do/make more things and actually follow through with doing/making these things. Yeah, I said it was broad. I have set 3 semi realistic goals for myself which are as follows:

  • I will update this blog (and maybe ETSY too) at least once every 2 weeks starting now (so see ya again in 2 weeks from today, let's hope).
  • I will make a much larger effort to get my work out in public.
  • I will start making these really super cool awesome things that I can't tell you about yet. by next month.

I guess this post was more of a reminder for myself rather than entertainment value for the 2 or 3 people that might read this. And if you did actually read...below you will find something I almost NEVER do: a sneak peak of an upcoming painting! Yeah!

Slowly but surely...

...getting off my tuckus.

Here, for your viewing [hopefully] pleasure,

Dear Allston Art Share,
Thank you for forcing my out of my creative slump.

No but seriously. I'm pretty sure I promised new work and posts on a weekly basis and failed miserably. I think it's similar to the whole "my eyes are bigger than my stomach" theory. I'll be more realistic here and say it might be a little while until my next post. However, attending the Allston art share last night really got my wheels turning. Time to buy more wood, make prints, and update ETSY. Until next time...

Just another manic Monday...

...or Thursday.
I'm really hating myself right now for my lack of consistency on the art front. Apparently it takes an entire month and then some to settle into a new apartment. And then another month to get used to the area. But things are looking up. I got a new job with hours that will be much more conducive to painting life. I have a secret new project to share on Etsy soon as well! New job starts in 2 weeks and I have a good feeling there will be many more blog entries and new paintings to share. No matter how annoying I get, please don't "hide" me from your newsfeed on facebook. Or you'll have to answer to Milli.

TO DO:

PAINT!

Yes, this is another time for me to say FINALLY! I guess it just means things are finally coming together on the art front...or I've just gotten off my lazy tuckus.

My very own (tiny) art studio!

Now you may be wondering if I am experimenting with introducing kitty litter into my work. The answer is no. Because my roommates were so amazing to let me use this space in our new apartment, and I also brought a cat into their lives, i'll be sharing my space with Milli's litter box.

Does she look like she cares? Beggars can't be choosers, it's a really small price to pay since I'll finally be able to erase the years of bedroom floor painting and stepping on wet palettes. Anyway, I am so excited to have my own space. Hopefully this puts some fire under my butt and new amazing things will come of it. (as always, please check out the Etsy shop).

I lied!

Ok, so I know I said I was going on a hiatus only a week and a day ago, however mother nature decided we needed some rain earlier this week when I had a day off. I had some errands to run but I couldn't find my umbrella (lie, I was lazy) so I didn't run them. Instead, I closed the door to my bedroom and painted for hours. Once I started, I couldn't stop. It felt wonderful. Here is some of what I got out of my system. Some are final products and some need some revisiting. Either way, I hope they find you well. And as always, take a look at the ETSY shop. These pieces should be posted there soon.
